Apple Grilling & Smoking BBQ Cooking Wood - Raleigh & Wake ForestApple Wood gives meat a sweet fruity taste and a mildly smoky flavor. It is most commonly used with chicken and pork but is great for all meats. Apple wood mixes well with Cherry, Oak, and with Hickory if you want a strong smokey flavor.

Apple is mild enough for flavoring a turkey or ham. It usually turns lighter meats dark brown and gives skin a sweet fruity flavor.
